 Why are you taking this class?
I am an Elementary Education major at a University in North Carolina. I am home for the summer and have decided to complete my concentration and core classes during summer school.
Why this particular class instead of another class that fulfilled the same requirements?
I needed an English or American Literature course and chose this particular class because I love reading old writings and learning about how different peoples lives were before the 1860's.
What do you want to learn from this class?
I would like to be able to see how writing styles have changed throughout American history and what influenced the changes.
What do you expect to do in this class?
I expect to read a lot in this course and write a couple papers.
What else you should know about me:
I completed my freshman year at Arizona State and HATED it! I love the school I'm attending now and am doing better in my classes than ever before. I will be going to get my masters after undergrad but I'm extremely excited to get into the teaching field so I'm hoping I'll be able to teach and do my masters at the same time. I love the east coast and would love to teach anywhere in that area.

I hear North Carolina is a nice state. I almost moved there, and always wondered what it would've been like. I've lived in a lot of different places. :-)

And I also ask the question: why did you hate ASU? I guess universities in the east and west have different vibes.

I was born near the east coast and LOVE it there. I'm also planning to teach in that area. The schools have better ratings for the majority too (but then again I suppose anything is better than Arizona's rankings).

I'm sure you probably don't remember me but I used to live down the street from you and we both went to elementary school and jr. high together for a while. It's funny how we both ended up in the same class! :) I know it's been years since I've seen you and I'm glad to see that you're going to become a teacher. If I don't find any jobs as a writer anywhere, my back up plan is to become a teacher as well. Well, not elementary but maybe high school. :P Hope to hear back from you soon!

How is the weather in North Carolina? It must be way cooler then AZ. ASU is a party school and I don't like it either.
