This source is reliable because it comes from Princeton. It gives several definitions of the word diversity and serves as a good source of information.

I found this source to be very helpful. It does not just define the word diversity. It is an entire article about racial diversity. It was interesting. It has a works cited and listed author, so I believe it to be reliable.

This is a credible site because it is an .edu address from a university. It gives a simple and straight-forward definition of diversity as it applies to modern day. By comparing today’s definition with diversity in the past, the literature student may gain some insight. For instance, as the writer of this citation said, slave owners did not view diversity as we see it. It is likely they did not even have a concept of diversity. I recommend visiting this source. It is stated well and thought provoking.

Frankly, I don’t think this source applies to the theme of “diversity” in this class. Maybe I missed something, but the only mention of diversity is an explanation for middle school teachers on how to diversify the literature they choose for their students. The topic isn’t about diversity of culture, religion, race, politics, etc. Maybe this is just my preference.
I can, however, see how studying different types of literature and comparing them (like our study of the time periods) may help a literature student. So, although it’s not stated, I guess it has some application for a college classroom.

This source was helpful in seeing how diverse literary forms could be and not just how authors may use diversity in their texts. This is a completely different view of looking at this word than I thought of. This source is credible because the author is a professor of Victorian literature.

This source is credible because it is a regular dictionary just published on line. It gave a clear definition for diversity that could be used with any period we needed to focus on for this class.

This resource is useful in defining diversity and helped me understand and give me a better definition of diversity and apply it to the different writers throughout the course "The fact or quality of being diverse; difference." Difference that is my favorite short definition

This resource is very useful and credible and specifically talks about racial diversity which is what we tend to think of when we think of diversity today so it is a very practical resource that helps us understand diversity in todays world.

I found this website to be very thorough. It gave many different aspects that help relate diversity to everyday life as well as the texts and periods that we studied. Although it’s a website focused for diversity training, it was still helpful in learning about the theme and in giving ways to apply it to specific situations.

This was a great essay on diversity. It was obviously very well researched and had a lot of facts about this topic. Racial diversity is one that many people can relate with, and I feel that it is one of the most important aspects of diversity that we all need to understand.

This resource was helpful because it explained diversity in regards to the Enlightenment. This helped me to understand more about the Enlightenment and diversity and also helped to take a closer look at the authors who are relevant to those two terms. I agree with the credibility of this resource because it is published in a scholarly journal.

This resource was very helpful because it went very in depth on racial diversity and what that means. This helped my understanding of diversity and how it relates to the various literary eras. The article looked very professional and had notes that related back to outside sources, but there was not works cited or stated publishing date.

This site was informative and had a lot of information. It also had a list of sources it used to make it credible. The one thing I didn't like about the site is that it is about RACIAL diversity not just diversity in general.

these two are very similar in content and are short and to the point. I liked them for a brief quick definition of the term diversity.

It is interesting that this site--a diversity handbook--was chosen as a source for diversity, but I can see how the information would be useful. The site does describe diversity and one can glean a defintion from that. I have noticed that many of the resources found have more modern focuses, which suggests that "diversity" is an issue that is still not resolved.

This source provides a good basic definition of diversity, which a researcher could apply to literature. It would have been helpful for the posting to further explain how transcendentalsim reflects diversity.

I really loved how this defintion described diversity because it was more understandable then I have seen it defined before. This website describes diversity as "recognizing, appreciating, valuing, and utilizing the unique talents and contributions of all individuals” regardless of age career, color etc. My resource talked about the diversity of church and state but didn't really define diversity very well. Great job with the resource I had a hard time finding a good one.

9: This resource discussed church and state as it applies to diversity. I didnt feel that diversity was thoroughly discussed. To be honest', it only mentioned diversity in reference to the changes made over time, but the article didn't go into detail about these changes. I did learn a little about the relationship between church and state. 10: I like that this source provides advice for understanding diversity and coping with it in your everyday life. I do wish that it dealt with diversity as it connects to literature, but regardless this page had a lot of great information on diversity and real life.
